Olympic Mobile Garage Service

I started my company back in 2003 for a simple reason. People do not need to drive to the dealership or a garage to wait around for an oil change, or other vehicle maintenance—tires, brakes, batteries, belts, shocks, etc., when they can save both time and money by having me come to their place of business or home, and do the work on-site.

Some people do not have the time, they have more important things to do or their work hours make it difficult to take the time. Truckers have issues finding a garage that will take them when needed, and within their budget.  Businesses with company cars or trucks either want their employees in their vehicles or busy at work, not away from the job for hours.

Yes, the company has a new name

Since I serve the Minneapolis and St. Paul metropolitan area, I had originally called my business Metro Oil. However, since I provide many more services than changing and recycling oil, I changed the company name to better reflect the full range of services I provide, and give it a personal touch.

The 1992 Winter Olympic U.S.A. Curling Team

I decided on Olympic Mobile Garage Service because it was a tremendous honor being a three-time member of America’s Olympic curling team. I learned to curl from my father, Bud Somerville, a World Champion curler. I was then lucky enough to be on the team with him in the 1992 Winter Olympics at Albertville, France, where we took home the Bronze Medal. I then went on to compete in the 1998 and 2002 Winter games at Nagano and Salt Lake City. Our team placed fourth at Nagano, but we were eliminated at Salt Lake City. However, win or lose, being a part of the Olympics is both a thrilling and learning experience that stays with you the rest of your life.

The lessons the Olympics taught me—having proper training and using the best equipment, giving 100 percent, and the values of ethical behavior and sportsmanship, I apply to my business.  I am certified by the State of Minnesota and the Automotive Oil Change Association, and I am a licensed U.S. Department of Transportation Inspector. I pride myself on delivering winning service with the utmost professionalism–exceeding Minnesota and EPA standards, while offering gold medal value at a fair price.

I hope I can earn your business. References provided on request.
